Enrolling your student:
- Search by address to find out which school your child will attend.
- Gather your documents: All students new to Austin ISD must provide a birth certificate, current record of immunizations, child's last report card, proof of address (rental contract or utility bill with valid address), parent photo identification or driver's license and the child's Social Security Card (optional).
- Get information regarding the enrollment of students in foster care or under the guardianship of DFPS.

Para matricular a su hijo:
- Hacer una búsqueda usando su domicilio para averiguar a qué escuela asistirá su hijo.
- Preparar sus documentos: Todos los estudiantes de nuevo ingreso del Austin ISD deben proporcionar un acta de nacimiento, registro de vacunas actual, última boleta de calificaciones, comprobante de domicilio (contrato de arrendamiento o factura de servicios públicos con domicilio válido), licencia de conducir o identificación con fotografía del padre, madre o custodio y la tarjeta de Seguro Social del estudiante (opcional).
- Obtener información respecto a la matrícula de estudiantes en adopción temporal o bajo custodia del Departamento de Servicios para la Familia y de Protección (DFPS).

Parents submitting requests for students who are new to the district or who have had an address change since enrolling in school this year need to attach proof of residence and a photo ID. A birth certificate needs to be provided for students who are new to the district.
How to Apply for a Transfer
- *NEW* Apply via email: Scan transfer requests and all necessary documents (proof of residence, parent/guardian photo ID, birth certificate). Email documents to aisdtransfers@austinisd.org
- Submit transfer requests and required documents in person to the Office of Student Services, 1111 W. Sixth St., A200, during regular business hours, 7:45 a.m.–4:45 p.m.
- Mail transfer requests and required documents to the Office of Student Services, 1111 W. Sixth St., A200, Austin 78703.
- Fax transfer requests and required documents to the Office of Student Services at 512-414-4994.
Frozen Schools
Each year, Austin ISD determines which schools should be frozen to transfers because they have, or are expected to have, enrollments that exceed their capacities. Also, some schools are frozen to maintain stability in tracking patterns.

- Middle Schools: Burnet, Lamar, Murchison
- Elementary Schools: Baldwin, Baranoff, Blazier, Casis, Cowan, Doss, Graham, Gullett, Hill, Kiker, Maplewood, Menchaca, Perez, Ridgetop, Wooten, Zilker
